DSWD Email Advisory
In order to provide a cost-effective back-up email service for DSWD, MISS harnessed the hardened FOSS email technology of Google® in lieu of the principal DSWD email service, which is undergoing necessary enhancements and hardening to provide users with better services. The features of the new back-up web mail service are as follows:
- Less spam: Keep unwanted messages out of your inbox with Google's powerful spam blocking technology
- Plenty of space: 6.8 Gigabytes of email storage space; Keep any message you might need and then find it fast with Google® search
- Access from anywhere. Send mail, read new messages and search your archives instantly from your mobile device or mobile phone
All DSWD web mail users are enjoined to access their existing DSWD mailboxes using a default password at
http://mail.dswd.gov.ph or at the DSWD website. (http://www.dswd.gov.ph) Please call MISS at loc 322 for your password details.
The sending and receiving function of the old email system found at
https://mail1.dswd.gov.ph has been disabled but users may still access old emails using their old accounts.
May we reiterate the downloading of the user?s email messages via POP, or Post Office Protocol, that allows the downloading of email messages from the servers onto the user?s computers. For more details on how to use POP, visit
Google Support.
